Presenting Research Paper at the Workshop of the International Conference on Machine Learning
In July, Rakuten Institute of Technology researchers attended the workshop of the International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML), held in Stockholm. ICML is one of the highest impact conferences in the machine learning world, and it boasts a very strong academic presence as well as attendance by major corporation corporations in the field from around the world. With over 5000 attendees, and 621 accepted papers out of 2500 submitted, it was an impressive event to behold and be a part of.
With the large amount of presentations, workshops and posters present, there was never any lack of options for what to learn about next, and getting to meet and talk to other people that spend large parts of their life dedicated to the field led to many valuable takeaways. Everyone was very happy to discuss and share their latest challenges and breakthroughs to help each other advance the machine learning area of research.
Rakuten Institute of Technology had a paper accepted for a workshop and a poster session on our research with the topic “Robustness of Rotation-Equivariant Networks to Adversarial Perturbations”. The interest from the attendees was almost overwhelming, keeping our researchers busy from start to finish explaining all the details of the study, but gave a lot of valuable insights and feedback.
We look forward to next year’s event, and in the meantime you can read more about it on the official page:
