Kanade Shiono, a student at Tokyo Metropolitan Hibiya High School, was awarded the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) Award at this year’s Japan Students Science Awards. She was awarded for her research on “purchasing tendency analysis based on statistical information” using data from Rakuten Data Release. Both product and review data of Rakuten Ichiba were used to study consumer purchasing tendencies.

We are delighted that Ms. Shiono was able to utilize Rakuten data to conduct academic research and we congratulate her for her remarkable achievements.  We will continue to improve Rakuten Data Release so that we can better serve our researchers in their research activities and endeavors.
