Rakuten Opens New Research Institute in Silicon Valley
Rakuten Institute of Technology is very happy to announce that we are opening our San Mateo office as of April 1st 2018.
Rakuten Institute of Technology, which combines creativity and innovation with emerging technologies to fuel the growth of e-commerce, already has research centers located in Tokyo, Paris, Boston and Singapore. The newly formed Rakuten Institute of Technology San Mateo becomes the second such center in the United States and the fifth worldwide.
Located at the US headquarters of Rakuten the new office will play a role as the US market hub of research projects, connecting all RIT locations to US businesses. Its focus is on Data Science, Data Mining, NLP and applications of Machine Learning and Deep Learning in the creative economy space will drive an increased effort into Creative AI. In particular its applications in e-commerce, for example in the automatic generation of creatives designed for particular individuals and in automatic generation of product information and marketing content.
Based in the bay area of US, where emerging startups and leading universities are located, we are excited to see the future results.
