In connection with the opening games of the Japan Pacific League baseball season, Rakuten Seimei Park Miyagi and Rakuten Eagles held a pre-open event welcoming fans to the team’s home stadium to experience various activities.

As a part of this Rakuten Institute of Technology got a chance to display some of our latest research, in the form of a mixed reality experience displaying videos as if they were floating in the air in front of the viewer. Many excited visitors came by and took part, leaving us with comments such as “I can’t wait for technology like this to become available for public use!” and similar sentiment.

We were very happy to take part of this celebration and to meet with all the fans of the team, and we hope to get another chance again soon.
